Thomas Thoelen (b. 2000, Belgium), graduated with a masters degree in fine arts painting from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
The artist records anecdotal scenes from everyday life that induce melancholy and intimacy. His figurative works evoke elements of nostalgia and memory, while still carrying a contemporary sense of irony. This paradox defines the focus of Thoelen’s practice.
